Why Teach?
I have known for as long as I can remember I have always wanted to be a teacher. As a young child, I would pay close attention to my teachers and the way they taught certain things. Once I got older, I would start “teaching” at home to my parents because I was so intrigued with being like my teachers. I have always wanted to help people and I love children so I knew that this career could be a really great thing for me. I always had wonderful teachers that would encourage me to stick with the dream of becoming a teacher. My goals are to put my student’s first, to make the class a safe space for all students and to teach them something new every day. My grandmother on my mom’s side was a teacher for over 30 years so I’m hopefully following in her footsteps.
Educational Aims:
I am wanting to become a third grade teacher but I will be certified to teach EC-6th. I remember my third grade school year very vividly and I know how important this grade is with testing and the transition from one grade to another. When I student taught in high school I was in a second and third grade classroom and I was able to compare the different grade levels. After being present in both these classes all year I decided on third grade because the students have more independence but also need that one-on-one instruction too. I personally believe this will be a good balance with effective classroom management and once I get into the groove of teaching. I am wanting to stick with the Reading/Language Arts side but I am open to any of the subjects because I will be in the position to teach them one day.
Tiktok Teachers:
@lovemsslater- She shows the realistic side of teaching, instead of glamorizing it for social media. She tries to make the classroom fun for her and her students.
Hi and welcome, Lindzie!
ReplyDeleteYour explanation about why you enjoy 3rd grade is so thoughtful. My preference is reading and language arts, too. Can't get enough of it.
